About us
Is Bookcarsnow.com a car rental company?
No. We're an independent booking service. We take your request, find a matching vehicle through rental companies in our partner network, and arrange the booking. The vehicle is provided by the rental company, and you sign their rental agreement at pickup.
Does it cost anything to send a request?
No. Sending a request is free and doesn't commit you to anything. You only pay if you accept a quote, and the quote states exactly what you pay, to whom, and when.
When will I hear back?
Our team is available 24/7 and replies to requests by email. If your pickup is within the next 24 hours, call us at (888) 990-1292 as well, so we can check availability right away.
Pricing
Why don't you show a final price online?
Rental prices change with the location, the dates, the driver's age and availability. Instead of showing a teaser rate that grows at the counter, we send a written quote with the total price for your exact trip.
What's included in the quoted price?
The quote shows the base rate, taxes, location fees and any extras you asked for, plus the security deposit amount. See Fees & deposits for what each item means.
Is there a security deposit?
Almost always. The rental company places a temporary hold on your card at pickup and releases it after the vehicle is returned. The amount depends on the company and the vehicle class, and is written in your quote.
Vehicles
Can I reserve a specific make and model?
You reserve a vehicle class, such as midsize sedan, premium SUV or cargo van. If you'd like a particular model, tell us in your request and we'll ask, but we can't guarantee it. Vehicles on this site are examples of each class.
Do you arrange vans and moving vehicles?
Yes, cargo vans and passenger vans can be requested. Choose "Vans" in the search, or pick Cargo Van on the request form and add details such as the load or number of passengers in the notes.
Drivers
How old do I have to be to rent?
Most rental companies rent to drivers 21 and older. Drivers under 25 usually pay a young-driver fee, and some vehicle classes require drivers to be 25+. Choose your age group on the request form and we'll tell you which options fit.
Can someone else drive the car?
Yes, if they're added to the rental agreement as an additional driver. They must be at the counter with a valid license. Some rental companies charge a daily fee per additional driver; the quote will say.
I'm visiting from another country. Can I rent?
Usually yes, with your home-country license and passport. If your license isn't in English, bring an International Driving Permit too.
Changes & cancellations
Can I change or cancel my booking?
Before you confirm a quote, you can change or cancel your request at any time, free. After you confirm, the rental company's change and cancellation terms apply. They're written in your quote before you book. See our Cancellation Policy.
Who do I contact if something goes wrong during the rental?
